Operation Thrive was founded on a simple belief: our community's heroes deserve time to heal, reconnect, and thrive—not just survive.
Founder Chadwick Walker knows firsthand the physical and emotional demands that come with a life of service. After serving six years in the military, graduating from California State University, Long Beach, and spending the past 13 years as a firefighter and paramedic, Chadwick has dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. Today, he also serves his community as a real estate professional, but his greatest passion is wanting to create opportunities for veterans and first responders to reconnect with themselves, their families, and one another.
Growing up in Southern California, Chadwick developed a lifelong love for the ocean, surfing and the outdoors. His military service gave him the opportunity to travel the world, but after settling in Northern California to raise a family, he discovered something unexpected. A few summers ago, while wake surfing on Lake Almanor, he experienced something many first responders rarely allow themselves—peace. He found clarity, connection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
That experience became the inspiration for Operation Thrive.
Chadwick realized that countless veterans and first responders are carrying the same weight he has experienced. They deserve a place where they can step away from the pressures of service, spend meaningful time with their families, build friendships with others who understand their journey, and experience the healing power of the water and outdoors.
Today, Operation Thrive provides no-cost outdoor experiences that help veterans, first responders, and their families unplug from the demands of everyday life and reconnect through adventure, community, and time on the water. Whether it's wake surfing, wakeboarding, tubing, or simply enjoying a peaceful day at the lake, every outing is designed to promote resilience, strengthen relationships, and remind our heroes that they are never alone.
At Operation Thrive, we believe that healing happens through connection, purpose, and shared experiences. Our mission is to honor those who serve by creating opportunities to rest, recharge, and build lasting community—one unforgettable adventure at a time.
Because our heroes deserve more than our gratitude. They deserve the opportunity to thrive.
